Volunteers are essential for our work to protect and conserve critical natural landscapes that remain in North Texas. In return, volunteers build new skills, take pride in protecting the natural heritage of North Texas, and become part of a community of like-minded people.
Please volunteer with us!
Apply your skills and experience working in field operations, education, philanthropy, outreach, or office administration. Opportunities range from one day to ongoing projects. For longer endeavors, volunteers receive orientation and training.
Read more about current volunteer opportunities. Then fill out a volunteer application (pdf) and return it to us by fax or mail to ensure you are matched with the best project possible.

Kathy Vidrik
Kathy Vidrik has been a member of the Meadow Preserve Steering Committee and Friend of the Meadow for over five years. During that time, her volunteer efforts have included organizing Meadow Preserve clean-up work days, educating visitors about the Meadow Preserve use policies, and working tirelessly with the Meadow Steering Committee to steward the property. Kathy currently responds to all questions about the Meadow Preserve and does a great service to the Meadow Committee and Connemara in responding to all of this mail. |
Rich Jaynes
Rich Jaynes does a great many things for the Meadow Preserve, including: leading restoration efforts - identifying native plant sources, organizing planting events, leading the big bluestem sod rescue, removing invasive species, serving as a liaison to other organizations, leading guided walks on habitat, plants, wildflowers, and prairie restoration. Rich has also created our current trail map, taking great care to identify habitat zones, contour lines, trails, and an overview of flora and fauna found on the property.
“Rich is passionate about the Meadow Preserve and our efforts to restore at least some portion of the native prairie. He is tireless in his efforts, willing to help as often as his schedule allows, and creative in identifying and addressing our needs. He is passionate about our work and enjoys sharing that passion with others. He is an amazing spokesman for the Meadow and Connemara.” – Michelle Schneider, Meadow Preserve Program Manager
